Christmas Dinner in Wirral 2026: Restaurants and Pubs With Prices

For Christmas Day on the Wirral, most people look first at Thornton Hall Hotel (£95 or £125 a head), the Red Fox at Thornton Hough (£114.95, already fully booked) and the Three Stags in Bebington (£74.95). The cheapest Christmas Day menus are £57.99 at the Kings Arms and the Arrowe Park. Every entry checked against the venue’s own site on 1 November 2026.

We have not eaten at any of these for this guide, and nothing here is a review. Each entry gives the price on the venue’s own 2026 Christmas menu, what that price covers, when it is served and the booking rules, with the Food Standards Agency (FSA) hygiene rating from Wirral Council’s inspectors. Christmas Day tables are pre-order and need a deposit, so read the terms before you book. Several well-known independents are shut on Christmas Day; they are listed at the end.

These are the Wirral pubs, restaurants and hotels that publish a 2026 Christmas menu with prices on their own website. We checked each one on 1 November 2026 and added the Food Standards Agency hygiene rating; nine are rated 5 and Thornton Hall and the Three Stags are rated 4. Most of the Christmas Day menus are from the pub chains, because many of the Wirral’s best-known independents close on the day: the Wheatsheaf at Raby and the Coast in Heswall both say they are closed on Christmas Day, and the Fox & Hounds in Barnston opens its bar for drinks only with no food, though it serves Christmas specials from 27 November to 24 December. Hillbark Hotel’s Christmas page still shows 2024 dates, the Leverhulme Hotel’s website was offline when we checked, and the Green Lodge Hotel in Hoylake advertises a three-course Christmas Day menu but publishes no price, so they are not listed. A festive menu on other December days is much cheaper: two courses from £19.99 at the Merebrook and £22.99 at the Three Stags, £25.50 at Julian’s in Hoylake midweek, and three courses for £35 at Arthur’s, £37.95 at the Red Fox and £39 at Thornton Hall.

Do I need to pay a deposit for Christmas Day?

Yes, at every venue here that publishes its terms. The chain pubs ask for £10 per adult, and £5 or £10 per child, with a pre-order. At the Gravesberie Inn full payment is due by 1 December 2026 and the deposit is non-refundable from 11 December.
