Sunday roast on the Wirral from £14.99 at the Magazine to £60 a head at Hillbark: 10 menus with prices, serving times and dog rules, checked October 2026.

Sunday roast on the Wirral is mostly a country-pub affair: the thatched Wheatsheaf Inn at Raby, the Red Fox at Thornton Hough, the Fox & Hounds in Barnston and the Irby Mill, with Hillbark Hotel for a roast carved at the table and the Magazine in New Brighton the cheapest at £14.99. Every entry was checked against the venue’s own website and Sunday menu on 25 October 2026.

We have not eaten at these places for this guide, and nothing here is a review. Each entry sets out what the venue publishes: its Sunday menu and prices, serving times, booking rules and house rules on dogs and children. We add the Food Standards Agency (FSA) hygiene rating given by Wirral Council’s inspectors and, for pubs, details from the Campaign for Real Ale (CAMRA). Prices and roasts change week to week, and Sunday tables fill early, so book and check before you set off.

How we chose

There is no Wirral award for Sunday roasts, so these are the places people search for when they want one, chosen on the public record rather than on taste: pubs and restaurants with a published Sunday roast menu we could read on the day, a spread across the borough, long-standing pubs, and a Food Standards Agency hygiene rating of 4 or 5. We left out places whose Sunday offer we could not check on their own website, and nothing here is paid for. Run a place that should be here, or spot something that has changed?
