Eleven pubs, hotels and bars on the Wirral are open on Christmas Day 2026, and this guide puts their hours, prices and booking terms in one place. For lunch, most people land on Thornton Hall Hotel (£95 or £125), the Three Stags in Bebington (£74.95) and the cheapest tables at the Kings Arms and the Arrowe Park (£57.99). For a drink without the dinner, the Fox & Hounds at Barnston and Arthur’s in Hoylake open their bars. Every entry checked against the venue’s own site on 8 November 2026.
Christmas Day is a Friday this year. There are no Merseyrail trains and no ferries on the day, so plan a lift, a taxi or a walk home; our Christmas trains and travel page has the detail. Every Christmas Day menu here needs a deposit and a pre-order, and at the Greene King pubs full payment is due by 1 December.
Thornton Hough, Bebington and Bromborough
1. Thornton Hall Hotel, Thornton Hough
Thornton Hall is the country house hotel on Neston Road, and it offers two ways to spend the day. The Christmas Day lunch is four courses with a glass of fizz on arrival, served between noon and 2pm in the Dining Room or the Cristal Suite, at £125 for adults and £80 for children.
The family lunch in the Torintone Suite is three courses with vegetables served to the table, arrival from 12.30pm for a 1pm sitting, at £95, with children 12 and under at £60 and 5 and under at £40.

2. The Red Fox, Thornton Hough
The Red Fox is a Brunning & Price pub on Liverpool Road, and it publishes the fullest set of Christmas hours on the Wirral: open 11am to 4pm on Christmas Day, with the set menu served from noon to 2.30pm. The Christmas Day 2026 menu is £114.95 a head, with starters such as a duck confit and green peppercorn terrine or French onion soup with a Gruyère croute.
The pub says it is now fully booked for Christmas Day, so it is one for the cancellation list, or for Boxing Day, when it opens 12pm to 7pm.

3. The Three Stags, Bebington
The Three Stags on Church Road is an Ember Inns pub, and its Christmas page prices Christmas Day at three courses for £74.95 for adults and £37.50 for children, the top of the chain-pub range here. On Boxing Day it has a three-course menu at £32.50, and its Breakfast with Santa through December is £12.99 a person.

The Acorn on Village Road is a Sizzling Pubs house, and its Christmas page sells Christmas Day at three courses for £66.99 per adult. Sizzling asks for a £10 per person deposit on Christmas Day bookings and a pre-order.
On the other December days its festive set menu is three courses for £21.49.

The Kings Arms on Kings Lane is a Flaming Grill pub, and its Christmas Day 2026 page offers four courses for £57.99, joint cheapest in this guide. The pub says the menu has something for vegans and vegetarians alongside the roast, and that it will have festive cocktails behind the bar on the day.

The Merebrook on Greenfields Avenue is the second Sizzling Pubs house on the list. Its Christmas Day page offers three courses for £62.99 per adult and £31.49 per child, starting with sticky maple and pomegranate wings or breaded brie, with festive cocktails on the drinks list.

The Gravesberie Inn on Greasby Road is a Greene King pub, and its Christmas Day 2026 menu is three courses for £66, with sprouts and pigs in blankets on the plate. The Arrowe Park on Arrowe Park Road is a Hungry Horse pub by the country park. Its Christmas Day page is three courses for £57.99 for adults and £22.99 for children, the lowest children’s price on the Wirral.

10. Fox & Hounds, Barnston
The Fox & Hounds on Barnston Road is an independent village pub with a Christmas page that sets out its hours day by day. It serves no meals on the day, saying its team “deserve some much needed time with their families”, but it opens the bar so you can “join us for a festive drink with the family”.
The Christmas opening hours give the bar as 11.30am to 1.30pm on Christmas Day, while another line on the same page says 12 to 2, so ring before you set off. Food is back on Boxing Day from 12pm to 7pm.

11. Arthur’s of Hoylake, Market Street
Arthur’s calls itself an “independent wine bar and eatery”, and its festive opening hours have it open from 12pm to 4pm on Christmas Day for drinks only, “perfect for a Christmas toast”. It serves the normal menu on Christmas Eve from 11am and opens from 12pm on Boxing Day.
Through December its Christmas menu is two courses for £30 or three for £35, bookings only.

Closed on Christmas Day
The Wheatsheaf Inn at Raby and the Coast on Telegraph Road in Heswall both say on their websites that they are closed on Christmas Day, and the Coast also closes on New Year’s Day. Wetherspoon’s Christmas menu runs in its Wirral pubs, including the Brass Balance in Birkenhead, from 12 November to 31 December but not on Christmas Day itself, and the pubs publish no Christmas Day hours.
