Wirral Roadworks This Week: Queensway Shut and M53 Upton
The Queensway tunnel shuts 9pm to 6.30am, 2 to 5 November, and the M53 shuts southbound J1 to 3 on 2 November. Kingsway is one lane each way to 30 October.

The £26m Royal Daffodil, built in Birkenhead, sailed on 22 September. Its first public cruise is Saturday by ballot, with passenger service later this autumn.

Grange Road West: one-way stays, planters and orange road go
Wirral Council will keep the one-way system on Grange Road West in Birkenhead but remove the orange surfacing, planters and benches and bring back parking. Removal starts within a fortnight.

Last year Merseyrail's last trains left about 8.30pm on Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve; tunnels were free on Christmas Day. 2026 times are due in December.
